Who and what inspired my outfit today 5/29/14

Hi everyone! Today's outfit was inspired by Madonna from her True Blue album . I remember getting this cassette tape from my NY friend Deb before I moved out to Cali eons ago. 

I loved the True Blue album so much that I memorized ALL the words to every song ! 

This Tee was for sale in my @poshmark closet but I decided to take it back and wear it ( Who knows I may sell it soon ).

The skort reminds me of how I really wanted to be a cheerleader and the red kicks are just too fun.

We all have black clothing items in our closets right ? Have you counted how many exactly ? I have ...lots and I have pictures to prove it ! 

Black is a wardrobe staple .

You must have the following staples in your closet : 

Black basic tank top 

Black basic v neck tee

Little black dress 

Black jeans 

Black jacket /coat/blazer 

Black kicks 

Black heels 

The great thing about fashion styling is that you can style these pieces however you want and make it work for you . 

No matter your size , style or taste black never let's you down .

Today's Fashion inspiration 5/24/14

Do you ever take a fashion piece from your closet and create a whole outfit around it ? 

I've started to blog about what pieces inspire my daily outfits . 

I'm hoping it helps you find inspiration in the pieces you already have in your closet . 

I styled my outfit today around my black 

"  I am a strong Woman" black T. 

This T shirt gives me a message n gives other women the message that We ARE Strong Women . I feel powerful when I wear it . This T has a Rosie the Riveter silhouette on the back . 

I styled it with my Rock Revival denim jeans and my black velour  Liz Sport kicks . 

It's a casual look , good for running around town or having lunch with your friend .

I'm starting something new today on my blog ; Today's fashion inspiration 

I will be posting outfits and what inspired them . 

5/23/14 Today I start with this outfit below :

I was Inspired to style this outfit around these flowered jeans by Mossimo . I have been looking for a cool pair of flowered jeans that remind me of the pair I had when I was a kid in the 80s. 

I finally found them ! 

I styled them with a blue Hollister tank , white birkenstocks and an Apostrophe jean blazer.

Animal print part 2

A few months back I wrote about animal prints and how to style them . Today I'm sharing a couple of different looks I came up with. 

I wasn't an animal print wearing gal but now I am !

MJ has Been gone for 5 years this June 25.  He was my ultimate favorite singer.  I dedicate these different MJ looks to him and his music legacy .

Lace and pearls

I'm not a lace wearing gal but when I found these shorts I sorta changed my mind . I loved them so much I bought them in black n cream . I found them at #forever21
