Inspiration comes from anywhere .

My outfit today was inspired by this yellow handbag . Yellow is one of my favorite summer colors . I created the following outfit from this yellow bag above .

Birkenstocks - a stylish renaissance

Ok , yes they are ugly ..... But are they comfortable ?? ... Yes!! 

I first fell in love with these not so fashionable shoes when I started teaching . I needed confortable shoes to wear all day in and out of my classroom.  I did my research , interviewed a few college friends , went to a store to try them on and get sized and now ....

I am a for life  wearing Birkenstock gal! 

I'm into my heels and all .. But when I want comfort and know I'll be on my feet, I prefer my Birks . 

Birkenstocks  are making a come back this summer 2014. Givency and Celine have either reinterpreted or showed the Arizona model in their summer collections . The Arizona double strap  style is not my favorite . Who knows ? I might venture out and buy myself a pair .

My outfit today is inspired by SWAGGER. I have it . If you have it , then it shows in the way you style and carry yourself . You don't have to be dressed up all the time to have swagger . You can be in a T , shorts and sneaks and Still have swagger .

My summer top knot was inspired by a video I watched on @mixedmakeup channel on YouTube . It's easy to create and all you need are a few pins and a elastic band .

Family Game Night inspiration

What inspired your outfit today ? 

Family Game Night inspired my casual outfit today .

Family Game Night is a show for families on the HUB. My family and I got casted to participate . 

We had a great time . Look for our Episode #9 Season 5 in the fall.

I wore an official Family Game Night Yellow T , Miss Me denim jeans (poshfind on @poshmark ) and Aasics kicks .

Comfortable AF navy blue dress and Aasics kicks.

It's a hot day in Cali and I want to be comfortable chasing after little kids.

Flowers inspired today 6/4/2014 's outfit.i love flowers 🌺🌻🌹🌷🌸💐. I try to keep fresh cut  flowers in my house every week. They make me happy and they are reminder that God is with me . 

I don't have many flowered pieces in my closet . But I do have these flowered comfy distressed denim shorts . I paired them with a yellow  tank and my white Birkenstocks . Everyone mentioned how "summery"  I looked .

White after Labor Day? That is the question

Do you wear white after Labor Day ? 

I grew up back East where this rule was followed in my early years . 

Do you know how  this fashion rule came to be ?! 

We'll let me tell ya, this rule was created by the snobbish super rich high society ladies of the 1800s and 1900s. 

It was created to make a distinction between ladies of old money and new money . The new money ladies learned the hard way not to wear certain fashion during certain times of the year because they were looked down upon. 

When Labor Day became a national holiday , it was decreed that ladies with fashion sense should not wear white after Labor Day - the end of summer. 

So what do you think ? Still a faux pas?

Beach Day Inspiration 6/2/2014

My family outing outfit today was inspired by the beach and the @poshmark #theposhlife challenge . 

I llove  the beach with a passion . I love smelling the sea air . I grew up near the sea on Long Island . I grew up going to the nautical mile in my town and getting fresh fish , crab , and ice cream . This is a fond memory of mine . 

The @poshmark challenge for 6/2 was denim .
